About Dr Jim Hasn MB.BS(Syd) Hons., FRACS, F.A.Orth.A

Dr Jim Hasn is Sydney born and trained. He attended The University Of Sydney where he graduated in Medicine with Honours in 1983.

Following this, he spent his early post-graduate years at The Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney and The Norfolk & Norwich Hospital in England before being accepted onto the Australian Orthopedic Association Registrar Training Scheme in 1990. After training in various hospitals in Sydney and Canberra, he was awarded his Fellowship of The Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 1993, and commenced practice on the Central Coast in March 1994, with appointments to Wyong & Gosford District Hospitals as well as Berkeley Vale & Gosford Private Hospitals. He was awarded Fellowship of the Australian Orthopaedic Association in 1998.

He was the first orthopaedic surgeon appointed to Wyong District Hospital and became Chairman of the Medical Staff Council from 1996-1998. He was also appointed Deputy Chairman of the Medical Advisory Council at Berkeley Vale Private Hospital in 1995. He continues his service on this committee, having become Chairman in 2009.

Special areas of interest include adult reconstructive surgery and arthroscopic knee surgery. To date, he has performed over 3000 hip and knee replacements.
